Who we are.

We are over 150 students, teachers, scholars, researchers, stakeholders, and advocates from across the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean who have come together in service of one mission.
To exchange, promote, and disseminate knowledge that contributes to criminological expertise and understanding of the rapidly growing U.S. Latina/o/x population. We work in the areas of criminology, criminal justice, social justice, sociology, psychology, education, human development, and social work.

OUR

PURPOSE

Vertical Divider
We work, collectively and intentionally, to:
  1. foster and highlight the importance of Latina/o/x scholars in academia;
  2. build collegiality and support for Latina/o/x scholars;
  3. advance the study of intersections among democracy, crime and justice, and actions of citizenship for the Latina/o/x population;
  4. support Latina/o/x scholars in their academic, research, and activist pursuits for justice;
  5. aid and support Latina/o/x communities in their work to overcome generations of exclusion and marginalization.
. . . you have to conquer your rights and defend them—nobody else will defend our rights if we don’t defend them. And that defense has to be collective.
